[ There's a headache building behind Erik's eyes as he wanders the Mansion. It's been an exceptionally long day, having taken himself off to the quietest part of the grounds he could find, wiling the time away twisting and working hardware beneath the sway of his hands. The aim is to be able to move something without having to lift a finger in the outset, but right now that seems a far off task. Even now, his hand is held just a little behind him as he lifts a cooler by the metal handles, lets it hover along the floor as he tracks Charles down.
Before now, Erik would have taken the exhaustion he feels and dealt with it like everything else, to be filled away. But since Charles had fallen into his life, Erik finds himself treating his presence like a balm. He's a comfort that Erik keeps spending when he can't afford to. Right now, everything else can be dammed, really.
Dim evening light filters through the windows as he crosses the corridor to the study, raps his knuckles against the door and pushes it open. Leaning one shoulder against the door jamb, he calls out. ] You better not be doing anything responsible right now, Charles. I wouldn't bear it.
